Introducing myself and my journal: The Beauty of Diversity

About Me:
There is a compelling reason for every path taken by every person in the journey of life. I found myself in Portland, Oregon at the age of 16 after my single mother had worked hard so that I could pursue my education. I believe I have a purpose in making a meaningful change, particularly in the lives of other individuals from diverse backgrounds. Self-expression is as vital to living as breathing. It is how we interact with others and the world. It can be supremely fulfilling or irritably frustrating. I strive to make an impact through the various forms of communication, cultural exchange, community engagement and development. I'm a student at Portland State University pursuing a degree in Communication Studies and Advertising Management. I have always been passionate about the non-profit sector, technology and poverty alleviation. There is no doubt that if you educate a woman she directly influences and contributes to the welfare of her family and the community at large. This has the power to develop communities, the lives of people around the world.
