Introducing myself and my journal: Praxes

About Me:
I teach Women's Studies at Clark College, a community college in Vancouver, Washington. One of the courses I teach is Women Around the World. I use online materials for the course, including World Pulse, Imagining Ourselves (an online exhibit of the International Museum of Women), United Nations sites such as UNIFEM, UNFPA, UNICEF; and a number of NGOs (like Women to Women International). I am looking for ways to help the learners in my class make global connections; personally, politically, emotionally, and culturally.

My Passions:
Teaching and learning, natural history, sustainability, hiking, canoeing

My Challenges:
Teaching and learning

My Vision for the Future:
Technology that connects us, rather than divides us

My Areas of Expertise:
Women's Studies, feminist theory, analyses of social power dynamics
