Introducing myself and my journal: Jewels of Inspiration

About Me:
Its interesting that the first thought that came to mind is what can I share about myself to my new community without saying \"I don't know what to tell you, or Ummmm, I don't know?\" So now that I have the jitters out of the way.... it is much easier.
I am a woman who believes in justice for women. I have formally studied theology and I am a Womanist Theologian. I have studied under the progenitor of this theology, Dr. Jaquelyn Grant who has given her life to the empowerment of women ministers and the issues and obstacles that we face inside the church. However, those same issues - sexism, classicism, racism, and gender bias still plague women in society at large. One of the questions that she poses to us, is what will you do now that you have been empowered? It is in your hands. I am interested in women's stories and the way in which we teach our daughters through our ways of doing and being, instead of our words. I love to write... short stories, essays, poems, reflections, words of inspiration.... Our voices need to heard. We are mighty in number, but yet we suffer unimaginable pain that traumatizes, paralyzes, and sometimes stops our voice which in turn leaves us feeling hopeless and helpless. But in actuality we have the power!!!
