Introducing myself and my journal: In A Beautiful Place

About Me:
My name is Rebecca, I'm currently a senior in high school, and I absolutely love to write. I keep a personal journal that I write in, and I am constantly writing down my ideas and discovering new things in this world. My other passions include reading, music, community service and running. I'm a part of my student council, marching and concert band, jazz band, and cross county and track teams.

I read and write as often as I can; I love it. I'm trying to read as often as I can (when I'm not busy with homework and extracurriculars) and I hope that one day, other people will pick up a novel that I wrote. I love marching band, jazz band, and concert band. I like to have opportunities to just play and express myself. I also love to listen to music - not just classical or jazz band - as I love rock, alternative, and indie music. I'm constantly listening to music, it is a part of my every day life. Oddly enough, I also have a passion for running. I joined my school track team freshman year - although I wasn't good at all and almost gave up - and have recently found a love and appreciation of running. It certainly isn't for everyone; it's a lot of hard work, determination, and patience. I've found it to be a good stress-reliever and creative outlet - and it's fun.
As of lately, I've gotten involved with a group called Spark540, which is run out of Salem, Massachusetts, and takes time every year to work towards achieving the 8 UN Millennium goals. I've always loved helping others, and this organization has connected me to people around the world, who I can share my stories with and learn about their stories as well. It is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. I hope that one day, my words can make an impact on people. For now, that means helping Spark540 fundraise in order to bring children in Senegal supplies to have a better education. I'm so excited to reach out and connect with other women on World Pulse. I've decided that this time in my life will best be spent absorbing as much knowledge as I can from others, and creating meaningful connections that will be beneficial not only to myself, but to others as well.
