Introducing myself and my journal: From Boomer to Boomerang!

About Me:
I’m a Boomer; I turned 50 a year ago. I thought something magical would happen; like a meteor shower sprinkling wisdom all over me along with an electronic message (what celestial being would use paper?!) outlining what I was supposed to do with the remainder of my life. Instead, I just noticed a few more wrinkles.

I continued to my very routine routine for that year, but something stirred. I really couldn't identify it until I held a \"celestial court\" on March 20, 2010, the Vernal Equinox. It wasn't like I gave birth to an idea complete with 10 fingers and 10 toes, but something emerged from my mind's haze; I need to organize! Not just my closets, but people and their ideas - unrealized and realized. From there, I will capture their passions in a way that can be shared, supported, documented and ultimately implemented!

The thing is, as we become more connected via wireless communications (ringing, pinging, paging, tweeting, texting, and of course, e-mailing – the 21st century “snail mail” … yawn!), the less connected we become as people; people who need to talk, to see, to hear, to feel, to touch, to laugh, to cry, to mourn, to celebrate … hand in hand, not hand-held-device to hand-held device. Interestingly, people I talk to feel more disconnected, silenced, suppressed and oppressed, disenfranchised, and otherwise disempowered than ever; and we live in a supposed “ever-shrinking world!”

So, I am on a quest, a quest to reach out to people, to meet them, listen to them, talk to them, laugh and cry with them, share ideas with them, and touch them – literally – with hand shakes and hugs. This is my plan, which will be outlined in detail on my webpage very, very soon. In the mean time, bring me your ideas, your passions! Let’s connect! Lets bring “Commune” back to “Community!”

My Passions:
People, change, animals, change, the environment, change, education, change, civil/human rights

My Challenges:
Fear; lack of imagination necessary for realizing infinite possibilities; unreasonable barriers I've erected

My Vision for the Future:
Open and free-flowing communication by and between all people

My Areas of Expertise:
Communication (oral and written), public speaking, mediation, negotiation, organizing (people, not clutter)
