Introducing myself and my journal: Femisphere

About Me:
I am a wife, mother to 3 children, a daughter, a sister and a friend. I believe in living life to the fullest. I strive to do that everyday and to ensure that I do my part to ensure everyone lives to their fullest potential. I have been an activist for as long as I can remember. My passion is women's human rights, especially domestic violence, because I believe that charity begins at home, and every child should have a safe place to call home. I work as a community organizer in the inner city of Minneapolis - North Minneapolis. It is a vibrant and diverse community facing many challenges, but with very many opportunities and possibilities. This month, I put a new slant in my work - 'gender based organizing'. I am interested in organizing women in the spaces in which they live in and have created (as care givers, in domestic sphere, professional, religious, etc.), and organizing and framing issues through a feminist lens.
