Introducing myself and my journal: Educate a woman...

About Me:
I was born in Trinidad, grew up in London and currently reside in the U.S. I believe that educating women in all aspects of their lives (body, mind & spirit) is critical to bringing about social change. I strive to to that with other women as well as myself. Until a year ago I was a professor at a predominantly female college campus. The learners were all adult, many at mid-life and returning after a long time or attenting college for the first time. It is by far the most meaning full work I've done and I remain passionate about it. It ended and that saddened me. I'm transitioning to another leg of my journey that is unclear at the moment but I'm ready. I know it will involve working with women and creating spaces where they discover their voices, practice their voices or lead with their voices. I am ready!!

My Passions:
Witnessing people come into their own, reading, research

My Challenges:
Waiting tooooo long to move on things.

My Vision for the Future:
Collaboration instead of competition

My Areas of Expertise:
I have extensive knowledge in education for social change; womens' development; cultural competence; resilience; identity among other areas. I don't consider myself an expert because I'm still learning and will continue to do so.
