Introducing myself and my journal: Being The Change

About Me:
I am thirty years old, working full-time and going to school part-time to complete my Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. I am the eldest of 6 children and love being a big sister and aunt to my two nieces. I have no children and am not married. Before my foray in social work, I was a reporter/news assistant for a television station for almost 10 years. I am currently working at an environmental NGO as a membership coordinator.

I hope to complete my BSOW by December and get a scholarship to do my Master's Degree in Social/Public Policy and Development next year. After which I hope to make a difference in my country in that arena. I helped with the formation and served as President of my university's Social Work Student Association and have really come to love the social work field.

My Passions:
Social Work, my family and friends, HIV reduction

My Challenges:
Finding time to fit everything I would like to do in

My Vision for the Future:
My country having policies in place that properly address the needs of its citizens

My Areas of Expertise:
Social Work/Broadcast News
