About Me: Hello Everyone, I am a film maker based in Mumbai and an unapologetic feminist. Many highly accomplished women are reluctant to call themselves feminists, I don't feel the same way. My definition is feminism is equity, safety and control of your own life. I feel passionately about women's issues because there is so much disparity and narrow mindedness in India, even today. The international community is well aware of how unsafe India is for women and the political establishment, justice system and law and order machinery is totally ineffectual. My mission is to raise the pressure of public opinion to make education the number one item on the national agenda. Education is the key - Parents must be educated on how to raise broad minded sons and daughters who are treated equally in the home. Women must be educated so that they are empowered Men must be educated so that they support and empower women and understand we are all on the same side.
