About Me:
Join me in this journey
Back in teenager years, I simply could not fathom, much less accept, the fact that there existed so many rules that “good girls” had to follow, even though there existed no seeming equivalent for boys! I was born and raised in the upper middle class of Tehran, Iran. During that time, I had no knowledge that about 50 women and girls are raped every hour in the Congo, or that female genital mutilation still happens around the world, including in Iran.
It was only after I came to America, six years ago, that I started reading about the problems that women face around the world. This knowledge made me wish to gain a more in-depth understanding of this issue.
Yet, the more I read one question got bigger and bigger: where is story of Iranian women?
Thankfully, women in many countries have become empowered to voice out their stories, and their struggles. I found Iranian’s women story far less being told despite all that is happening in Iran.
It is my goal to be a doorway for their stories since many sites including the World pulse has been filtered in Iran.
I would like to invite you to join me in this journey by sharing with me your thoughts and ideas.
