Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
I’m 60 years old and proud to be a native Oregonian. My husband of 33 years and I have three grown sons, two daughters-in-law, and an adorable grandson. I have recently retired from my business as an architectural designer. My interests include downhill skiing, bike riding, hiking, cooking, knitting, reading, and creating iPhoto books.

I am also one of seven women in a bookgroup of close friends in Portland, Oregon who have been meeting for 16 years. Inspired by the book HALF THE SKY about culturally accepted abuse of women, our bookgroup felt a responsibility to act on behalf of oppressed women throughout the world by creating a Kiva.org lending team focused on providing micro-financing to female entrepreneurs in underdeveloped countries. We loan because we believe empowerment can change oppression into opportunity for women worldwide. I hope you'll consider joining our team!
