Individuality -A Room for self

Two or three years ago, while reading Virginia woolf's "Room of one's own", i didn't get that much depth, as much i understood while living my own life and observing women's life around me. I came to understand "Room" is not just a material possession but it's also creating space for yourself to grow and move beyond the defined definitions. Room is acceptance of individuality. 

And it's more terrific that women are not allowed to own themselves. In a long legacy of culture and society, everyone has own roles, duties and responsibilities towards others but not towards own self. 

Owning your own space and own self responsibilty is considered as western idea or as side effect of education. In a family having own room is like having own secrets but secrets can't be allowed in family. It's always been tough to say and make understand that it's not because of secrets, it's for introspection, to connect with own self, to understand own self better, to take care of self, to be responsible for own self. It's not to create distance between us but it's to understand the distance between us and to make better ways to handle. 

Individuality is always presented as threat to family and society. They say, an individual woman is against the society and family values. Is it so ? But accepting individuality mean creating responsible indivinduals. Is the society against the responsibile women ? When she own herself, it's not just mean that she is taking jobs and earning, working but it also mean she take responsibility of the words she says, she takes responsibilty of the actions she does. She is not follower than but a responsible woman. 

A society is more beautiful and systematic with responsible women rather than follower women. 

Room is not just a place, it's a space for own self, to be natural, to learn, to grow, to own. 

Feels like this world pluse is that room for us in this digital era to learn, to introspect, to grow, to own self.
