Recently, crimes have been increasing in Sri Lanka. Murders, assaults, shootings, corruptions and frauds can be heard and seen daily. We can think it as a consequence of increasing CCTV and cell phones with the time, but it is true that many people's minds have been corrupted in today's technological world.

Among these crimes, most of them are related to women. Many crimes are still being investigated. I don't know if the fault lies with women or men or with the outside society.
There are plenty of men in Sri Lanka who bother women even if they go on a public bus. When I was around 12 - 14 years old, I often met such people on buses. Some days I came home and cried because I couldn't do anything at that time. But as I grew up, I learned to act in those situations. Now I can speak against a man even if he talks unnecessarily. In fact, middle-aged women rarely subjected to such things on buses. One thing I realized is that most teenagers are the ones who are caught by them. Many teen girls get scared when something like that happens. As they do not raise their voices, People take advantage of it.

Those who still want to justify men's misbehavior talk about the country's culture and clothing. They always criticize the girls wearing fashionable stylish wears, and girls who are travelling. But as far as I know, Arabic women as well as European women also get harassed in different instances. Cloths and the culture is a weapon for some men.
Shouldn't the environment be made suitable for a woman to wear the style she likes, travel around the world, and do the job she likes?
And I don't want to blame on these mistakes completely on men. Education in Sri Lanka is still in the 90s. There is no proper space in Sri Lanka's education system for law, sex education, computer science and global economic and social systems. People don't know about it. Even if they hear the name condom, it is a big deal for some people. But they are not ashamed to have too many children that cannot bear.

Some girls do not enter society until they finish school life (18 years). Parents did not allow it. After that, many young women suddenly enter the society without having any proper idea about its limits. Most of the stories of many young women who are killed everywhere have such cases.
There are many youngers who get suicided due to breakups and or informal relationships. But many of them do not even know whether their parents are well or not.

Many young women want to escape from Sri Lankan culture. But I think people need to learn how to live in such an environment before moving to that free culture.

A bankrupted country cannot be easily changed their culture and social system without having any other facilities that are having in a developed country. External factors should also be properly shaped. Otherwise, many young women who fly in search of freedom will end up as a BBQ that will enjoy on the dining table. It is common in today's youth society. It has been a strong reason for the rise in crime among the youth.
As far as I know, this problem exists in many South Asian countries. Women do not have complete freedom in our cultures. So many women fight to get it. But many of them forget that none of the necessary external factors are ready. That is why many young women who are unable to seek freedom properly become slaves of men.
