In the midst of all these'

I was born in the 90s during the civil unrest in my country, not knowing I would still feel the hurts of conflict in my early teens where I saw friends and loved ones die from hunger and bullets. Who would wish for such? I grew up in a society where the sounds of bullets replaced the sound of music, where poverty was accepted as a norm, where mothers looked helplessly at hungry babies and where fathers were hardly heard saying I am off to work. My childhood was robbed. Because of this I vowed to make sure my country doesnt go back to those dark days. Knowing I can never share my childhood stories without hurting doesnt bring me down because I feel my childhood has helped make me very special and unique. At a very tender age my love for education blossom.
My time at high school was challenging and interesting. From primary to high school and even at college I've always been the youngest in class. Because of this I was bullied and looked down upon but that did not stop me from pushing harder knowing I had something special that they never had.
In primary school I knew I had something special, in junior high I knew I had to discover that special thing, in high school I knew I had found it and in college I knew I had to nurture it and let it grow. This humble and interesting journey led me to world pulse knowing with worldpulse I can water that special thing and make it blossom. That special thing is advocacy. This inspired me to apply to Voices of our future because it offers so many opportunities and learning experiences without limitation. My personal vision is to make sure every young woman has a voice and a better future. Voices of our future is just the best place I can achieve this.
