Important Re: Flying to East Africa
Jan 21, 2015
story
Our tour begins on January 31st Nairobi, then on to the Masai Mara in Kenya, which will be incredible. Mid-trip, on February 7th, we make the move over to Rwanda. The trip ends in Rwanda.
First, for your comfort and convenience, we recommend that book your flight to NBO (Kenya) with arrival prior to dinner time on January 31st, 2011. Those who arrive earlier in the day on the 31st will have more time to relax, settle in, or even have a spa treatment. :)
The one-way flight mid-trip from Nairobi, Kenya to Kigali, Rwanda is included in the tour price. However, because the trip ends in Kigali, the choice is yours about what you want to do for your departure.
For your return flight you can...
Leave out of Kigali (KGL), i.e. book a multi-city itinerary, or
Leave out of Nairobi (NBO), i.e. a round trip ticket. However, this option requires you to purchase an additional one-way flight between cities. Tickets currently run approximately $300. You can book this independently, or let us know if you need assistance, though we do not offer any special discount.
Dates for return flight:
If you are doing the gorilla trek, the final day of the tour is February 13th, and you will need to book your departure in the afternoon or evening that day.
If no gorilla trek, your departure day from KGL is February 11th, after hotel check out time.
Recommended airlines:
You are absolutely free to choose whatever airline and itinerary suits you best. There are many airlines that offer flights from North America to East Africa. However, our tour operators recommend two top airlines: British Airways and Air Emirates. These two airlines have a generally high quality of service, reliability, minimal time in flight, and good / minimal stopover times.
Airport codes to remember: NBO - Nairobi, Kenya + KGL - Kigali, Rwanda
- Northern America
