Impacting More Through Collaboration

The World Pulse platform is an amazing place for sisters to support sisters without discrimination of their educational standard, race, ethnicity, disability or professional skills. This is a safe space for all sisters around the world to speak out, advocate, interact with one another and access life changing opportunities that will transform lives and bring change in their local communities and around the globe. World Pulse has several ways to support initiatives and efforts of all sisters on the platform to bring positive change in the lives of other women. One of the very best is the World Pulse Digital Ambassador program. As a Digital Ambassador, woman with disability and a gender disability advocate, I am committed to amplifying the voices of women with disabilities on the World pulse Platform, bringing more sisters with disabilities on board.

My Digital Ambassador journey has been very fruitful and fulfilling. I have benefited support from World pulse to organize digital trainings for women and girls with disabilities on the occasion of the international women’s day 2020 and 2022. It has impacted more than 250 women and girls with disabilities with digital skills over the period that I have been a Digital Ambassador.

For the international women’s day 2022, with support from World Pulse and in collaboration with other Digital Ambassadors in my communities, I trained 32 women and girls with disabilities on basic digital skills, digital storytelling, online advocacy and safety-security online from a curriculum provided to me by the World Pulse Team and it will go a long way to impact more women in my community and virtually.

Participants of this training have now improved digital skills, can be safe online, are able to report all forms of violence against women and girls with disabilities online and local communities. They are digitally telling their stories to access opportunities and advocate for respect of rights for women and girls with disabilities in our community. These digital skills will continue to improve over time and help to prevent and mitigate issues of gender-based violence and other forms of violence against women.

I like to let sisters around the world know that joining World Pulse and participating in the Digital Ambassador program is a good experience that will bring visibility to their works and impact change. Also, to the World Pulse community, let the team continue to run the Digital Ambassador program for it is a strength to the works of the sisters on this sisterhood.
