Few women who have no access to government given ration cards cannot avail food kits from the government during COVID-19. I helped identify those women through phone calls with various community leaders and stakeholders. Currently, through this effort, 30 women are receiving food kits. Additionally, the government provides free meals known as thaalis for INR 5 - I was able to secure such meals for these women.
As alternatively livelihood, 10 women are getting trained on making masks as protective gears in their villages. We are offering them support to sell these masks since they lost work due to lockdown. We have also connected these women with their local governments,o they can secure orders from them. Currently, the government has given them orders making 50 masks.
