Imitating

When I was a university student, one of our professors told us his story of being a victim of intellectual property theft, despite the fact that we were law students, that person who were trying to steal the theory of our professor never respected the law, because the penalty of such a violation in Egypt is not the right deterrence for such personalities.

The professor told us someone told him about that student who was going to represent that theory under his name and our professor immediately reported that and he was able to avoid publishing the thesis under the other student's name.

however if it was already published our professor would have had to sue him to get his rights back after a long period of time of course.

It was easy for many people to steal theories for the sake of their own PHD as long as such theories are studied abroad.

Whenever I was doing a research for an activity or in my master's degree, I always was keen on making sure that I am keeping the siting and writing sources down. It is difficult but it is the right moral way. There have been many bookstores who offer to sell already written researches for the university students whether they are undergraduate or post graduated students. Recently they do the same with even school students!

Unfortunately, it is more related to the culture of the community if they respect each others' property in general or not.

We daily face the same thing in our personal lives however I believe it depends on our perception, if we are inspiring people to do like us or people just imitate us!!!.

Sometimes just because we are in the same environment or having the same interests we do the same thing at the same time without stealing or having the intention to do that or even without knowing each other and the faster person to register their idea first are who take the advantage of the intellectual property.
