My journey toward empowerment and self-fulfilment began with the collapse of my family unit and ensuing chaos following the passing of my father when I was ten years old. As a tribute to his love of science, I went against all odds and through scholarships and the generosity of others, was able to excel at my studies in the STEM space, an area notorious for gender discrimination.
The mentorship I received growing up taught me the importance of giving back and making a difference in the world as an entrepreneur. As a passionate innovator, I have not only made my mark developing ground breaking internship programs in unemployment-ridden South Africa, catapulting previously disadvantaged first job candidates to high fliers in their respective corporate jobs, but also by developing VC-funded technology designed to automatically empower people in the workforce through data driven automated measurement, feedback and coaching.
As a female tech-preneur, I learned deep empathy and delivered a viral TEDGlobalWomen2015 Talk, inspiring women globally. Based on its reception and my obsession for empowering others whilst fostering their success, I was chosen as an UN Global Champion for Women’s Empowerment and an FDM #everywomanUK Technology Awards finalist in the Inspirer Category for 2016.
