Hi Family, its been a longgggg year.
I hope I have not turn into a stranger that needs to reintroduce myself. I am Oyedele Joshua and I empower women and youths to live a better through every means I can, I do live session on Facebook and Instagram to end the challenge of waste and unemployment among women and youths from low income background.
With what I have written so far you might have been wondering what I did😂😂
I have wanted to come on here since like forever but my gadgets went bad, but now I'm back.
Yes, I empowered 5 girls with recycling and upcycling skills. with the help of my amazing team at Just Recycle Initiative, we commemorated the International women's day with a four days long WOMEN AND GIRLS EMPOWERMENT WITH RECYCLING AND UPCYCLING SKILLS (WGERUS 2023), this way they are equip to fight two battles, The challenge of unclean environment in their community and help them generate economic value.
it was really a challenge trying to gather the people in the community together as I just relocated back to the community, the women were only interested in financial empowerment, it was a painful experience at first but with the turn out of the girls I was encouraged.
On the first day, I was almost at the verge of giving up when the turn out wasn't as I expected, but with the passion and enthusiasm the ladies had, I couldn't help but kept the fire burning. With the rate of insecurity in my country, some parent were not ready to allow their children to come since I wasn't a female, and that was the first time such event is taking place in their community. The second day was a lot better as I already made up my mind to train this five girls with the same enthusiasm as I would have train them if they were more. We delve into the process of bag making, and I also invited some friends who are making wave in their sphere of influence in the community to guide them through the "Principle of business strategy".
At the end of the four days we bounded, had fun and made a backpack and an ottoman furniture.
I learnt few things during this experience, its takes just one person to be the change and raise other changemakers and it doesn't matter what you gender, colour, background and religion is, YOU CAN BE THE CHANGE
