story
- Botswana is a country full of beautiful people, all mixed cultures, she has about 1.99 million people. She experiences a semi – arid kind of climate with winter, summer and spring. It’s a noble land inherited from our forefathers where there is peace and harmony. How ever Botswana has been hit hard by HIV epidemic. The records in 2007 shows that 300 000 people were positive. Just imagine how small we are and this disease want to wipe away our generation. And about 24.6 were the percentage for adults being the second affected country after Swaziland in the world, and the worst part of it is the fact that my town where am living hit the headlines.
This disease has been having a devastating in Botswana, Batswana are under siege. People here are taking drugs big and small .Our then president, His Excellency Mr Mogae made an address to the UN Assembly in 2001, where he summed up by saying “we are threatened with extinction because people are dying in large numbers, so it is a crisis”. Then in response to this Botswana became the first African country to assist its HIV patients with free antiretroviral drugs. With this aid , however I can say Botswana has been progressing but the country still suffer greatly from this Aids. My cry is this people are stiff necked they don’t easily get warned, for them to accept this preaching I don’t know or now we should fast and pray for our Nation may be the scourge will leave us. So they live recklessly, alcohol has been increasing at alarming rate more so that our current President had to intervene by enforcing some laws and acts to be observed so that people can drink responsibly. People I was alarmed because at the location where am staying oh my God am pained…….i don’t know how to say it, it breaks my heart. So last week we were celebrating Independence Day and saw this team from Tebelelopele Centre, with their equipment doing tests. Well that is good and once people they know their status it’s healthy since their food is to have more lovers. So since now people spend time drinking, change seems to be impossible and unachievable. However with the conveyance of messages on Aids, being right message to the right people can help our nation.Hey young people are endangered, they are so reckless, when they poverty stricken its even worse. It’s only our government who has reinforced education on this disease and prevention methods. Despite all these attempts its like people are fuelled to be doomed.
Myself I don’t know even where to start with these people , I do council individuals to avoid chain of lovers and for them to do sex when they are married to their partners .But to them it sounds so difficult that the more you talk and criticize it’s the more they do it. Again the people who are mostly affected are the poor, the less educated. However I have noticed that even the rich are no exception. So with Pulse Wire, it’s my cry to receive education for my people to talk for them as I acquire boldness. I know I can do it, approaching them as well as knowing their needs. With so many sharing’s I believe my country will receive uplifting and our communities will be eduacated. And my land will be healed.
