Volunteers as responders in times of Crises

Created on December 23, 2010 under Decree No. 2010/384, the National Civic Service Agency for Participation in Development works on the mission of mobilizing energies for the economic, social and cultural development of the country, and the promotion of the national and patriotic feeling of the sense of discipline, tolerance, general interest, dignity of work, civic spirit and the culture of peace.

As such, it facilitates the training of youths aged 17-21 accross the national territory as Conscripts. Some modules of the training cover

civics, citizenship, sports and cultural education,

The consolidation of national solidarity and integration,

Training in first aid and civil protection and

Awareness of environmental protection.

These young people are hosted in a camp for 30 days and 30 nights where they receive trainings on the above mentioned topics from different resourceful persons from all works of life preparing them for the world outside their comfort zones

They are guided , lead and animated by youths as myself. I was trained in 2015 and awarded the certificate as a conscript . In 2016, i served as one of the peer leaders of the training to animate the conscripts , transfering what I learned , guiding and ensure that the objectives of the training were attained.

Since 2016 I have been with the #NCSAPD NW region as a monitor and a support staff where with other monitors and resourceful persons we ensure the safety , the effective implementation of all modules on living together , patriotism , integration, moral values and the para Milliary aspect of the training.

This has been life transforming for me as I don’t only lead but I have an opportunity every year to learn and be a source of inspiration to young girls and young boys , we share experiences with them that help them to take informed decisions about their lives.

I have together with other young people Mobilized conscripts after training to carry out voluntary activities in our communities, we also have been able to have capacity building sessions to empower ourselves. the lives of more than 5000 people have been touched through our activities as young people.

Conscripts who have undergone this training are apt , dynamic , flexible and enthusiastic about changes in their communities , it builds their mindset towards making the world a better place by making sure they take care of not only the people in their communities but also the environment in which they live.

I am grateful to the NCSAPD for giving me the opportunity every year to express myself and be able to give back to young people.
