How Might We Identify and Celebrate Businesses that Innovate for Global Benefit: Investing in Your Future

Today I spent some time investigating the PAX World Investments that advertises on this platform. It is a wonderful concept whose time has come. I was impressed how many think tanks today are writing about this dynamic (including the Aspen Institute, OpenIdeo, Case Western's Fowler Center for Sustainable Value).

Clearly I understand that perhaps 1/3 of the world’s population has very limited potential to invest spare earnings, but another 1/3 are in emerging markets where increasing amount of funds are able to be saved (and invested).

Timely information on investment requires:

-Surfacing stories of companies, social enterprises and other for-profit ventures that create sustainable social, environmental and financial value for their stakeholders and communities;

  • Outlining the beginnings of an unprecedented international award program to recognise and celebrate the work that these leading global businesses are driving forward;

-Leveraging these insights and stories to inspire and enable other companies to reframe their own efforts to include social and environmental returns, in addition to financial ones.

I would like to encourage my friends to reach out within each of your networks to write in your journals on this platform about these three factors.

  • Economic Power
  • Leadership
  • Environment
    • Northern America
