How i got involved i activism

How did I get involved in activism ? It is always a tricky question as I don’t find a turning point, a specific defining moment.

It is a long road, with no clear beginning, even if I remember being aware pretty young through media about climate issues. 

Growing up, I gained awareness around topics of feminism notably thanks to social media and around ecology thanks to documentaries and shock pictures of polar bears…

I wanted to take action, even though I didn’t really know how, in my small town. 

Being at university, I finally had chances to find other involved people and take action together ! 

I joined student associations and kept getting involved. 

We organised conferences, clean walks, protests, worked with the campus administration, offered zero waste workshops, vegan cooking workshops… we created content, created cultural recommendations or decrypted news. 

There are so many things that can be done on so many topics and so many different ways. 

Nowadays, I still share posts and stories on climate change and social justice on instagram. (@lucie_boutez)

I post about meaningful works and opportunities on LinkedIn. 

I help Envol Vert, NGO working against déforestation in South America in their association life with support, newsletter help and culture recommandations.

I take action against Eacop’s project with #stopeacop and their emails, pétitions et actions. 

I participate in Alternatiba‘s Workshops, Events, attend and contribute to its growth. 
I volunteer in different festivals and climate events such as ChangeNow. 

It fulfills me knowing I have an impact on a daily basis and am surrounding by people as aware as I am, sharing strong moments of victory or giving ourselves support. 

And I know I’ll keep working in associations and NGO in the future.
