Honour of recognition for community service

Myself and director

It was some time in the year 2020, that one of my Teenage mother had a case with her husband about their girl school fees. This guy delibrately does nothing for his girl, and every single day I gtired of support for the family. You know sometime good demeanor help us to keep up with our vibe in the community services. However, upon every support this boy never shows acknowledgement what so ever.

This pissed me off and I finally asked the girl Mom to hAnd  the kid Dad to the social welfare department. There, the is a little kind of reinforcement of the responsibility of these guys. When she got there she resolved to mentioned my name and my foundation. I don't know how that happened, because it was concluded between us two there will be no such.

Honestly, I do my own work on low key and besides, I don't want the impression of me being the revealer. It Africa here ooo before I get a mopped attack as inciting their so called wives, please.

Th

The following day I got a call from the the department head who suddenly got so impressed about our work. She demanded we meet up in person as she wanted to see me person. I remember myself postponing the the meet up severally as I need to be sure of what debate to put across. Besides, Covid brouhaha's was another matter to think about. One day I delibrately passby the office unannounced, hoping for another postponement but it didn't work out for me. She was right available at her desk.

The discussion we had turned out to be another thing all together. She wanted to know more about my organization and how we get funding. Upon discussion she recommended a collaboration between the two which I think needed At the time. One thing lead to the other and towards the end of the year 2020, she called to informed me about their Dept selection of our Foundation, TIME FOUNDATION Ghana for an hourouring recognition. This was to help create visibility about us and our our activities for the teen Mother's.

I consented to her recommendation but I was not so reliable, as I knew politics is purely the factor. We kept all the meet up, meetings, workshops, conferences etc. Just last week I got a call from the desk, her junior staff spoke with me about a program the department is offering me an invite. I was sick that and relunctly don't want to go but I did went Arriving very late and exhausted, and below is or was the refreshment I got. An honor of recognition of our work at TIME FOUNDATION GHANA, I really needed this for that week.

This made me remember my fovorite scripture proverbs 11:25, it say the generous person will prosper and the ones that refresh others will be watereth themselves.

This is what we do at TIME FOUNDATION Ghana

TIME Foundation Ghana was established in the year 2018, with the goal of Empowering Young Teen Mothers economically.

Since, 2018 TIME Foundation has worked and established over eight Teen Mothers in the Regional Capital of Ghana, Accra.

We identify these Teen Mother's on our outreach programs in the field. We go out for outreach ever six months, that means twice in a year. When we get hold of needy Teen mother's we take their data and enroll them under TIME Ghana Foundation.

I must say it's not easy but we shall get there one day. A step at a time.

Our activities include:

1. Awareness raising

2. Skills Training

3. Financial establishment, among others.

Awareness Raising

This section of TIME Ghana we educate our Teen Mother's on their sexuality. We discussed interactive around topics like

A. Menstrual cycle

B. Do's and Dont's of Pregnancies

C. Abstaining from Sex/Protection

D. Dropping out from School/Important of Education

In general we educate them to pass adolescent age before pregnancy. Also get education, work, and marriage first before thinking of bearing kids or having a family.

Skills Training

At TIME Ghana we believe in teaching people how to catch fish than giving them the fish. If we teach them to catch the fish and one day we are not around they can catch the fish themselves.

Skill training is very important in the development of entrepreneurship. We offer skills training services like

A. Soap making/Detergents

B. Weaving of wig caps

C. Batik the and dye

We thinking of exploring more into our local earrings and necklace but that will also be in the future since we don't have the resources yet and support to make these dreams into a reality.

Financial Establishment

As part of financial Establishment, TIME Foundation Ghana has supported five teen mothers with financial support to help their businesses.

This became possible after we sent proposals for support to individuals and philanthropists for financial support.

We also trying new thing this year, that is out sourcing interested skills trainers who might give training for free. This will not be an easy project since every trainer feeds from his/her work but we pray and hope to find some and if not we might get low key trainers not demanding much.

It's not easy been a changemaker but we must keep the title alive. The last time I looked at my title as a changemaker makes me wants to do more and may God help me.

To all Change makers our there, please lets keep the fire burning! We will rip the fruit one day. Keep up your good work.
