Hero within

I have found insightful, inspirational to read others stories....as well as a gesture of kindness and generosity.

I believe we have two types of heroes: the famous heroes who have fought for social justice such as Gandhi and the every day heroes. I agree my mum falls into this category.

She became a single mum when I was 3 and we found ourselves back in Chile in the 80s...surely it was grea tto have family around and surely I h knew nothing better but living in a nation which is under a dictatorship carries oppression, violation to human rights and creates a sense of survival for many.

We had a pretty good living as my mum was fortunate to have received a tertiary education but even so, times were tough, recession was right by our sides and being a single mum was not an easy task...

I am forever grateful, for her support and teachings...and I feel inspired by all of your role models, which I believe it also makes us responsible to develop our hero within and promote what we believe it is right and fair! It is those little grains of sand that create a beautiful vast beach just like our little part and contribution,s will challenge the status quo and abolish inequalities!
