Helen Keller Day-

“I cannot do everything, but I can do something. I must not fail to do the something that I can do”

- Helen Keller.

Helen Keller Day- a brave lady, great humanitarian, lecturer, political activist and author who conquered hardships and reached horizons. She is the one and only women, advocated for the development of Blind people and women’s empowerment. What to let know more than these descriptions, about her?

She is a source of constant encouragement and support not to me alone but, to all the blind individuals and their families. Her birthday on June 27th is remarked as “Helen Keller day” globally to respect and remember her contributions to the disabled community.

Even in this digital era, there are so many blind children and women in India, who are still not able to be given the fundamental learning yet in the present days. Helen Keller struggled for herself and finished her learning in the face of of her disability. This is what forever she is like a magnet and pulls me towards her as a foundation of liveliness and bravery.

Helen Keller didn’t stop her actions with these alone. All the way through her life time she helped people with disability and was a powerful promoter of disabled rights, pacifism, and women’s empowerment and employees rights.

The only persistent subject in my mind is how this is achievable for women with multiple disabilities in those days? Her level of guts and the belief she had on her is unimaginable. She strongly proved to the whole world that disability is not a hindrance at all.

She is an indication of bravery and self-belief to the complete blind centre of population and an encouragement to the youthful blind girls like me.
