Hate free back to school sensitisation campaign

The proliferation of cases of violences in our schools is a real cause for concern. Everyday we record cases of violence among students, students against teachers and students against discipline masters and other administrative staff. Despite the actions put in place by schools to build safe spaces, violence has continued to prevail. Confronted with this reality, some schools have to dismiss students and send them elsewhere. We believe dismissal or exclusion is not the best solution. Where does the dismissed student go to? He integrates another school and the violence continues there. We vividly remember the case of a teacher who was stabbed to death by his student. This resulted in a widespread wave of fear in teachers.

In order to see that violence ends, Kids for kids Cameroon launched a nationwide sensitisation campaign to address the issue of violence and instil a hate-free culture and spirit in children. If children are educated about the importance of virtues suchrtance of virtues of love, tolérance, harmony, respect, dialogue and living together, we will avoid instances of violence in schools and the country. Through this campaign we expect to reach 10.000 children in the first phase and over a million in the subsequent phases. No student will be left out of the campaign. We will have nursery, primary and secondary school students educated about peace.

Through a series of activities to spread the culture of peace amongst which are display of sensitisation material, competitions and many others, we expect to make our schools a safe heaven for quality education to dwell in.
