Greetings from Shwe Wutt Hmon

Dear All,

Greetings from Shwe Wutt Hmon! Greetings from Myanmar! Greetings from one of the correspondents of Voices of Our Future. Greetings from a woman who loves to make a voice.

During these days, I, Shwe Wutt Hmon, did not participate actively in both VOF and WorldPulse. You would not see any of my posts about two weeks. Actually, I was attending Oxfam International Youth Partnerships (OIYP) program in New Delhi, India from November 20 to 30. Before the journey, I imagined that I will write my experiences there and post in my journal everyday but in reality, I could not do as I aimed. The busy and tough schedule, my greedy desire to take part in all parts of the program made me remain very tired at the end of the day. In detail, I even did not sleep well at night. I joined all the programs form the early morning Yoga class to My Space session which ends at 5:00p.m. And after the dinner, we all hanged out to explore India and Delhi. And we chatted a lot and shared our experiences from respected countries and we went to bed at the time very closed to dawn.

Dear my ladies, however, I was exactly with you all. I was inspired by the love and care of all of you for Sarvina when the tragic occurred in Phenom Pen and very glad to know she is safe. Let me express my words of thank to Rachael, Jade and Scott for their kind support to all of us especially reminding about important information again and again. And I am very sorry and beg your pardon, Rachael, as I could not join the first Q & A call. Although I could not contribute my voice on Violence against Women: Time to Act program, your stories impressed me a lot. Thank you very much for all your messages, my mentor, Barbara.

I really admire those who have posted their First Assignment draft. You all are very active and passionate on making a voice. I have just finished my interview yesterday. As your effort made me motivated, I will also wrap up and finalize my writing and let my editorial midwife and mentor know and read my draft and do all the tasks and procedures timely.
And another thing is that as I wished and planned, I will write and post about my experiences on OIYP program. As the 10-day Kaleidoscope event of OIYP program brought 300 youth activists from over 80 countries together in Delhi, it was an awesome moment for all of us. I would like to share what I have learned to you, my fellow VOF and WorldPulse ladies. So, you all will see the series of “Pieces of K” (K stands for Kaleidoscope) here, in my journal, very soon.

Oh! I have many things to do but it is my pleasure to be here again and to interact with all of you.

Writing this post gives me the feeling of arriving back to mom’s home.
