GOOD DEED DAY 2022 IN NIGERIA: IT IS GOOD TO DO GOOD

Women Inspiration Development Center (WIDC) recruited 214 Girls during the Good Deed Day (GDD 22) as Confident Girls Ambassadors who will be doing good by raising their voices against Gender Based Violence in Nigeria as activist in their institution and communities. Good Deed Day is a global movement of people who are dedicated to doing good. Since 2007, millions of people and thousands of organizations from 108 countries unite together annually to volunteer and #DoGood.

Women Inspiration Development Center joined this movement last year when we started our Initiative, “Confident Girls” to recruit volunteers as Confident Girl Ambassadors. This year in Osun State, eleven organizations came together to encourage, orientate and recruited 396 students of Osun State University as volunteers to do good.

This is a time that our country Nigeria is going through a turbulent time of insecurity which as a result of bad leadership and bad example for youth. Most of our youth because they also want to be rich quickly like our politician have turn to kidnappers, ritualist, armed robbers and the worst of it all terrorist and bandit.

Therefore the impact of this program will be seeing our youth changing their orientation to volunteering to do good. At the end of the program, 378 students were recruited by the 11 organizations out of which our organization recruited 214 girls who are ready to be activist in their institution and communities to assist survivors of Gender Based Violence.
