GENDER EQUALITY BY EDUCATING ADOLESCENT MOTHERS



Teenage  pregnancy cases are increasingly being reported in populated informal settlement of Nakuru county in Kenya. Many causes which are attributed to teenage marriages, engaging in riskier sexual behavior including early sexual debut, transactional sex, and multiple sex partnerships, high levels of poverty, child labour, lack of sexual reproductive health education among others.

Teenage mothers face a lot of challenges which include; rejection by parents, forced marriages, joblessness, poor health due risks of early pregnancy and early childbearing, and motherhood before they are physically and psychologically ready for such tasks as well as Increasing their risk of intimate partner sexual violence as well as HIV infection.

“supporting expecting and parenting teenagers in your Community” seeks to contribute to the reduction in teenage pregnancies and prevention of child marriages in Nakuru county.
