Gender based violence in my village. Mbiame Is my village in the northwest region Cameroon

Gender based violence is Ubiquitous. They have been traces of violence based on gender in my community. Women in my village are seen as vulnerable, weak and are not allowed to do certain things. Women are not allowed to sit in some places where it is said by tradition that only men are supposed to go. Women suffers from sexual violence, physical violence, emotional violence, psychological violence in my community. Most of these atrocities committed by men against women go unpunished. Men are allowed to cheat on their women, they are allowed to physically inflict pains on their women as a way of showing them that they are the head of the family. Most of this cases when reported, the local counsel and the government authorities, they tell boldly tell the lady to go back home and respect their husbands, or its is husband and wife issue and they can't do anything about it in our local palence "problem weh concern man and yi woman no put ya mop for there"  this has lead to depression and dead of many women which of course there's no record for gender based violence (domestic violence) being the cause of their dead.
