Seeking
Encouragement

Jane was a widowed mother of three living in a small town.life was difficult and providing food, school fees and other basic needs for her children was a daily struggle. Determined to change her situation, she borrowed a small amount of money and started selling sausages by the roadside.
Every morning, she woke up before sunrise to prepare and arrange her small stall. However, instead of encouragement, she faced mockery. Some of her friends laughed at her. "Look at Jane! After all her efforts, she is now selling sausages by the roadside," they would say.
Sadly, the ridicule reach e her children. At school, some classmates teased them because their mother was a roadside vendor. Embarrased and hurt, the children begged her to stop the business. Despite the challenges Jane refused to give up. She believed that every honest job had dignity. Some days were so bad that she would spend entire day by the roadside and return home with h almost nothing, yet she continued working hoping for better days.
One afternoon a local primary headteacher Mrs Njeri noticed Jane's determination. As fellow woman, she admired Jane's resilience and determination and decided to support her. Instead of encouraging her with words Mrs Njeri took action. She began buying sausages from Jane to serve teachers during break tea. What started as small order soon became a regular arrangement. For the first time,Jane had a reliabl customer. The income though modest, helped her put food on the table and pay some of her children's school expenses.
Mrs Ñjeri did even more, she introduced Jane to other school headteachers, business women and community leaders. Through these connections Jane started receiving orders for school m..eetings and community events. The headteacher's support opened doors that Jane could not have accessed on her own.
At the same time,a local women's group noticed Jane's growing business and joined hands to support her. They bought her products and recommended her services. They also taught her simple book keeping and saving skills.
As months passed, Jane's business flourished. She expanded from a small roadside stall to a well known food kiosk. She added tea and other snacks. Eventually she employed two women from the community.
The children who were once mocked became proud of their mother. They saw how her yardwork and determination transformed their lives. Friends who had laughed at her were amazed by her succes.. Instead of choosing revenge Jane chose kindness. She shared her experiences and encouraged other women. She reminded them that succes often begins with a single step.
