Formally starting work as a Psychotherapist in a clinic

It is a passion from childhood which led to a vision and mission. I always loved helping people, and I everybody, I was simply put a go to person in my family and neighborhood. A nickname was even crafted for me in French: \"L'homme de situation difficile\" which can be literally translated as \"Man of difficult situations\".

I remember several situations where I was called to a neighbour's home or even in ours, there was a problem and no truce. I will listen to the parties until they will sometimes even turn against me for listening to each of them so much hahaha. I helped with unconditional love, judging people has never been my thing.

When my parents divorced, although I was the second child among 4 siblings, I was the defacto mama after mum left. I got the new nickname from my kid brother: \"Mama Ayo\". I was 13 years, but never mind since he was convinced mama didn't come with age. That name has stayed up to today.

I read law eventually and became a lawyer, but I kept feeling something more was coming. I then created an association and the name inspired me by my spirit was \"Hope for the Abused and Battered\" and have 4 focus areas of interest  including being the hope for victims of domestic abuse and Gender based violence, victims of Adverse childhood experiences especially sexual abuse/rape. Fortunately, before creating the organisation, I had gone back to school to study psychology and get certified as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist after a 6 months intensive course.

I don't find swapping, or rather juggling arts and sciences any bit of an issue. I even have an MSc to start in September on medical health practices and professional development...yes that's me.

Mental health though largely ignored and even taken for granted, is beginning to gain grounds especially with celebrity and royalty like Oprah and Prince Harry joining forces to produce a series next year for Mental Health Awareness.

In the meantime, I am here and doing my mite to raise awareness on mental and emotional health, and the need to reach out for help earlier than later, when we start to notice signs of mental or emotional wellness challenges.

I look forward to an exciting second career, one which even enables me to help victims of abuse from another angle, after covering the legal angles of their situations or whichever comes first.

I know the world needs more of strong and dynamic women like myself, so I fodon take my torch bearing for granted. I therefore make it a habit for example to make use of all platforms like my beloved WP, to share my story - one of triumph after multiple abuse. I share to inspire and motivate someone.
