Journalists Training on Agroecology

From 22nd -23rd December 2022, through  a collaborative project on Agroecology for Climate Action. Haki Nawiri Afrika in collaboration with Indigenous Women and Girls Initiative and Regional Schools and Colleges Permaculture Programme co-organised a journalists training on agroecology. The training took place in Bungoma in Western Kenya. The aim was to build the capacity of journalists to understand agroecology and at the same time carry out effective reporting on agroecology within communities. The training also involved a farm visit to understand permaculture practice.  On their part, the journalists expected to :

-Learn about agroecology

-Enhance capacity on better reporting on climate change

-Gain skills and knowledge to be able to have own agroecological farms

-Be able to come up with the right stories regarding healthy food production

The journalist training had 10 journalists , the farm visit had 70 participants including children.
