Facilitating Digital Changemaking

I have had the experience of hosting a couple of living roomdigital changemaking sessions before now. Although i find the sessionsvery exciting each time, it does not come without a lot of preparations. Sometimes one can get too excited that he/she eventually losses the plot. A couple of things that i have learnt and put into practice in the course of facilitating my sessions are as follows;

- It is very important to have a clear agenda before you start.

- Know your stuff i.e prepare well before the training in order not to embarrassyourself in front of your audience.

- Always start with a self introduction of everyone present follow by prayer if youraudienceischristian

-An icebreaker is always a great idea to kickoff discussions, for me i always start with a songand half way through i introduce a PowerPoint presentation or a video. This to me reduces tension and lightens the atmosphere.

Most of all these sessions have taught me a great deal of leadership i.e being in control asin this case and learning that it really does get better with time.

Cheers
