Empowering Women and Girls: What It Means tome

As a woman born in Iran, I have always been concerned about gender discrimination and the limitations that women face in society. Perhaps this is what led me to collaborate with NGOs that work to support people living in marginalized areas, especially women and children, starting from when I was 18 years old.

Five years ago, I founded "Leezan," which means the will of Mahshid. In a post, I wrote that Leezan means will, the will of women who have decided to bring about change despite all the constraints and discrimination they face.

Our mission at Leezan is to create opportunities for women who are vulnerable and help them build a better future for themselves and their families, especially for women whose children work.

During this time, I participated in a social entrepreneurship boot camp and I must say that I had an extraordinary experience. While writing the impact model, I realized that there are many points where Leezan can have a greater impact. Now, I am even more energized and have decided to rebuild Leezan. I want to share our story with you because as a social activist, I believe that the work I do is essential for a better future for everyone.
