This Project Will Train And Finance 100 Women Entrepreneurs In Itombwe Mountains In Eastern Congo, Who Will Go On To Launch Businesses That Will Impact The Lives Of An Estimated 700 People. Data Shows That Women Spend 90% Of Their Earned Income On Their Families, Compared With Just 35% For Men. As A Cornerstone Of The Family Structure And Local Communities, More Productive Women Will Create Ripple Effects To Benefit Their Families, Communities, And Congo As A Whole.
I am leading a yearlong training program that will also provide grants to 100 women from some of the poorest households in Eastern Congo to become entrepreneurs and enable them to build sustainable livelihoods for themselves and their families.
