Eating Healthy - Harvest Time in Canada

This time of year in Canada the harvest is coming in, and fresh local food is available. This is one of my favourite meals. Simple and fast to make, and tasty. Wild salmon with local heirloom* tomatoes, blue potatoes, lettuce, and brussel sprouts. Heirlooms are from ancient varieties of seeds, carefully kept going by seed saving practices of farmers. Heirloom foods are true to their history and hold lots of nutrients. I eat salmon caught wild, not farmed. I'd rather it eat less often than accept the lower priced farmed salmon. Those are fed GMO food to force fast growth. We are fighting a new push for GMO \"salmon\" that are modified to be part eel genetically. There is big concern that GMO and farmed salmon will escape and mix with our wild salmon, ruining them forever.
