Eager to make statements in Elections

Women are encouraging each other to participate actively in politics

Our visit to Buzunkure Village, Kuje area council in Abuja, Nigeria was enlightening and educative as we realize that women are actually willing to participate actively in electoral processes but are restrained by  lack of adequate information and distance, either with the sources of communication or registration centres.

Out of the over 150 women at our sensitization event, 50 of them were yet to receive their Personal Voter’s Card and 27 have never registered.

We were able to give registration directions and update on how they can be a part of the coming general elections in Nigeria.

The women in Buzunkure were eager to participate.

We also got great support from the National Orientation Agency which educated the women on their rights to vote.
