Discussing Gender Roles and Stereotypes with the youth of Delhi

On 20th September, Vanshika Deswal, our Youth Outreach Officer in Delhi, conducted an Awareness Workshop at Sri Venketeswara College with around 30 students. The discussion included topics varying from gender, sex and stereotypes to consent and laws on sexual harassment.

Students were very receptive and equally involved in the conversation around Sexual Harassment, even men shared stories of sexual harassment that their friends had faced. It was wonderful to see men coming out and talk about why people do not report irrespective of gender.

The conversation also focused on Rape culture, how it is building up in recent times and what are the probable solutions for the same. The students created a very accepting and engaging atmosphere.

We would like to thank the Women’s Development Cell (WDC) of Sri Venketeswara College, for making this workshop happen and participating in the conversation.
