DIGITAL WORLD OR ANALOGUE WORLD?

A gear up to Tech - exciting when you team up in getting results that meet and or surpass your expectations

Being consistent online is challenging I must say. A majority of people have it that those who are always online are lazy fellows – particularly attributed to the female folk, all they do is swipe their phones with long artificial nails. Being tech inclined is a must have skill nowadays. Upon obtaining my undergraduate degree, my priority was to gain a skill in information technology which I did. Of course I understood that was a vital skill and acquiring it was worth all the effort. But then as time went on being in the digital world became so challenging as I lacked the gadgets/equipment that would grant me access to practice my newly acquired skill. Then I realized owning a laptop (for instance) became a requirement to be hired in the job market. Daily, in my line of job, I am required to do research, study, get new ideas, analysis data, write reports, do presentations. I am a tech savvy woman.

I have acquired more skills on how use the social media platform and make my online presence consistent, all thanks to networking in the digital world. I realized that it is very easy to become friends or connected with someone in the digital world however, it requires thought and strategy to convert social media relations into rewarding relationships. Tech is so important and powerful because it has got the dynamic information.

From experience, the digital world presents tremendous opportunities to all those who understand it and it brings people together. Today,

I am employed because I am a tech savvy woman.

I belong to an experience and opportunity sharing forums because I am a tech savvy woman

I carryout presentations (virtually and in-person) because I am a tech savvy woman

I network with significant others because I am a tech savvy woman

I am a mentor virtually because I am a tech savvy woman

It is worth noting that in the digital world, he who hesitates is abandoned. Because of this I got connected. A majority of women do not think much about the digital world because they are in the analogue world. I suppose this year’s theme is a wakeup call for the female folk. The theme for this year's International Women's Day, according to the United Nations is “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality and it aims to emphasize the importance of technology in bringing gender issues to light. DigitAll is a safe haven – just be strategic and dynamic and goals will be accomplished.

Recently in a beat of celebrate the women’s day, I participate in a training which focused “on how to use LinkedIn, search for remote work, hybrid jobs, and search/follow up of fellowship/scholarship programs.” All women left happy and ready to engage in DigitALL. DigitALL comes with innovation of which innovation has the power to transform lives, though there are still many barriers to equality. Conclusively, access to inclusive digital technologies and education is critical. We must innovate to close the digital divide that keeps so many women and girls offline and away from new opportunities. LETS TECH UP
