Creating Peace through Radio

Bawku will be peaceful again like this leave

A few days ago an idea came in my mind as regards my one of my project damp "Peace in Bawku". Bawku is very well know in Ghana as one of the trouble town or city. Honestly, it's sad that some of us identify ourselves as native born and bread until we all have moved on and settled where we chose.

As a kid I have run all the time from gun bullets in Bawku township. And up to now still this ethnic clashes never stopped.  When it looks like peace is returning to the township, then suddenly gun shots. This has brought about low productivity in the city and impoverished a lot of innocent ones especially women and children.

In short Bawku has become like the Ukraine in Europe. As the hamp and economic drive of the country, a boarder town to three different neighbor countries it use to be the economic city of Ghana but today it's nothing to write home about due to tribal conflict here and there all the times.

Radio to create Peace

As part of effort to help in any way to help bring about peace in Bawku, we are organizing a radio call in program and discussion. This we hope will help members of the community share ideas as to how the conflict has affected them and what they can do to stop the conflict.

We have gotten in touch with few radio station in the township that are willing to support us carry this activities in their stations, however we will be charge small amount of money as compare to the regular programs.

This is soon on the pipeline and we look at last quarter this year if possible. Currently, I am personally dealing with personal issues that I will like it been solve first before I can take this radio issues up.

As we are waiting to put things in order before, we are seeking input from all you lovely sisters as to any advice, ideas, and what of you to enable our radio for peace program a success.

I will have to travel down there with other two staffs and meet some other volunteers up there who have volunteer to support. It's looks so exciting and I couldn't wait but share this with you.

Will keep you all posted soon!
