Community Savings

Passbooks Where The Savings And Loans Of Each Member Are Recorded.

I believe that every woman should have her own money that she can use whenever she needs it without getting permission from others. This is the reason why I always encourage women to save so she'll have money for her personal necessities. Those who are economically dependent on their husbands may have difficulty saving especially if the income can barely meet family needs. However, no matter how small the income is, savings can still be possible as long as the habit of setting aside some amount for the rainy days is already built-in the person, thus, everyone can save.

There's a system of savings and credit that I learned from World Vision that I have applied wherever I go. It is called COMSCA or community managed savings and credit association. With that knowledge, I immediately incorporated savings and credit in our programs and projects by organizing a group of women and conducting financial literacy and COMSCA orientation sessions.I've also organized COMSCA among my friends.

For those who wish to learn about COMSCA, we can conduct a webinar on this.
