climbing the mango trees and cold tangerines

i am reading climbing the mango trees at the moment when i have a chance. I smell India and love the images that come to mind as Jafrey shares stories of her childhood. My favorite story is where they go to visit her mother's family and stop by the bazaar on the way. I was lost in smells and tastes and oh...i just wanted to be there. I'm in the middle of planing a trip for 12 to Gulu, UG and don't have much time to read. My little daydream to the food vendor stalls of that bazaar, was much needed.

I recently finished a book by Shauna Niequist, Cold Tangerines. It is a book about celebration and life. It includes 40 essays in 3 sections. It was delightful and funny, made me cry and laugh. I'll pick up the book and reread an essay for a spirit lift if I am feeling a little blue.

Next on my list, Ancestor Stones.

Kindly,
'becca
