Different social media platforms

Thanks to technology, advocacies can be done using social media tools to advance a cause and bring about change.

After having a clear message of what one wants to share, choosing a suitable platform to pass across the message is very important. Each platform has its target audience .

Personally, Facebook and Twitter come easily for me because I already have a following on these platforms and Facebook offers me wide reach across all ages.  it also offers me opportunities to post videos of whatever campaign or advocacy I want to carry out and I can do live streams for people to ask questions about the cause. I can even open a page different from my personal account exclusively for the advocacy and even boost particular post to gain a wider reach beyond those following my page.

Twitter provides for quick and short contents to a targetted audience. One can respond to comments from commentators and connect to them.

There are many other platforms one can pick from depending on what suits one, the audience one desires to attract, what works in a particular place.  In all ,online advocacy can effectively affect offline and grassroots advocacy and helps one reach the desired goal. as long as there is internet services, even in remote places, changemkers can amplify their work with platforms as basic as Short Messaging Services. linkedin, Whatapp, Instagram
