Changemaker Lab - Module 5 (Strategies for Fundraising)

Women Inspiration Development Center is committed to advancing women’s right and creating a safe place for victims of Gender Based Violence (GBV), disenfranchised women and girls to develop their agency through agency-based empowerment workshop and counselling in order to improve their health, economic, and social status so they can have fulfilling lives free of violence. 

Fundraising has been a major challenge for us as we took off as an organization in 2011, though it is still a challenge, but we have been able to put some structure in place that could continue to help us to sustain our organization.

One of the structures was that we have been able to maintain a fundraising page at Global Giving platform since 2016 to date and through this we have acquire some numbers of donors that believe greatly in our vision. Also, we have been able to acquire some badges at Global giving that has given us privileges of the organization driving funds for us.

We have also recently last year specifically been able through Girls Alliance Opportunity, have a page at Go Fund Me platform.

We have been able to acquire some friends through World Pulse, Imagine and our social media handles that have become a pillar of support for our works over the year.

Also, we went into entrepreneurship through our skill acquisition trainings that has been helping us to secure funds to continue the skill aquisition trainings at the center. All these are the strategies we have put in place to continue to sustain our programs at Women Inspiration Development Center.

We are still working tirelessly to improve our fundraising; our team of vibrant young girls are still working and are coming up with more strategies to continue to drive fund as our work continue to expound.
