Change Makers' Lab: A New turn on the Road.

So yesterday we had the closing ceremony for the 6 month-long Change Makers lab journey.

Just some few months ago, the end of the journey was no where in sight. Though the experience on the lab was transformational, it was demanding.

Looking back now, I can only say it was worth the while. And we will not be honest to say we are still thesame  women we were six months ago.

No, we can't be the same. Not after sitting in  the class under Ana on Empowerment. It was an eye opener for. Now i see the "power within" and the "power to " , I am striving to harness the "power with" others.

And Dawn too! In her way she made us fit the building blocks of our initiatives. Sheena was the bomb! The theory of change began to make sense! Zulma brought out the blueprints for partnerships. Amazing Kirthi   made me see the need to build communities and work with stakeholders and her story on how she handled failure was instructive.

Ruthibelle and Kat , Your lessons will be life long, cause we will be telling our stories forever and calling people to action. Adriana, you keep bringing the fire on.

It has been a time of learning and bonding with other changemakers. I am grateful for the opportunity to get a mentor through the process and a buddy too. We all are like women given wings to fly. And Soar, we will.

The closing session was an emotional one. And because every thing that has a beginning must have an end, but this end is not an end like an ending. It is just a turn on the road. We begin to sow and reap the benefits of the lab. And our successes will only be proof that  Ana and her team did a great job at training us. The rigours of having to meet up with assignments ,make time for reading and watching the videos, etc are all part of the discipline of a change Maker's path.
