The Power of Volunteerism!

Thanks to all of our supporters at organization QSV, Inc for aiding us in the often challenging task of supporting impoverished women and children across three (3) continents.

International volunteers are the "meat and potatoes"  and at the heart of the mission. We have been grateful to attract some of the best qualified skilled professionals with good hearts whom admire the mission and vision of Queen Sheba.

To our generous funders, you are the "spark of light" to keep our doors open to receive the on going aide even when the times are tough.

Last but never least and to the World Pulse Community of sisters who voted for me to help our organization receive aide to receive funding to build as we are currently in the process of now and ongoing until the deed is done!

Celebrating 20 Years!
Celebrating 20 Years!

Speaking of yet another Anniversary here at World Pulse coming up on 17 years! Volunteering is public service we aim to continue. When "we log on rising up" we continue to encourage others. I remember when I was introduced to the World Pulse community by a FB friend sister Aisha she referred me to World Pulse because of the role I served at my baby QSV, Inc. She said the people there would appreciate you. Well soon after I created a account and today hope to continue encouraging others and empowering voices. When you perform natural tasks in life , it is not work but rather a joy to fulfill and I am happy I took up her referral.

 A Little bit of History.

I created Queen Sheba Village , aiding humanity  2004 initially to find American support for impoverished women and families in Senegal. My two daughters gave birth to the name because I did not know what to call the organization, reflecting the respect for local tradition in Africa and my father's honor. We wanted to provide some health benefits of western standards of living in rural Africa by providing better health care, education and a host of dedicated services to help the quality of life there.

I was eager to help after I traveled to Dakar and then on to the remote reaches several different areas outside of Dakar, mainly in the Kaolack region with another organization’s founder Imam Shaykh Assane Cisse (RTA) where I saw the fantastic impact of his work. The goal was to have professional colleagues team up with Senegalese partners to bring modern medical practices to people desperately in need, by building modest but appealing facilities for this work, and by engaging successfully with the local populations in the neighboring areas. We would involve young women in educational trainings in workshop activities and this would allows young women to complete their education studies we provided. The idea was in motion but several challenges had to be sorted out first. We had to re-write the program and adopt a new ones.

We started to flourish before we achieved nonprofit status with the help of whom? Volunteers who offer perpetual help to our work — truly make fantastic things happen.

Today we believe there is a force in volunteering when many still refer to it as not popular as it used to be, i beg to challenge that statement. April is volunteer appreciation month.  The act of thanking your organization’s volunteers and recognizing their contributions to your community gives them support in the skill they provide to your organization.

Volunteering indeed reduces stress, mental pain, and increases positive affirmations that you began before becoming depressed . By spending time engaged in service to others ,volunteering report a sense of pride , fulfilling a void  and a sincere satisfaction, both given and received.

" Volunteering is not a minus service, it is a huge stepping stone to huge accomplishments. At the end of the day, the receivers and the givers smile with happiness". ~ Queen Sheba D Cisse

We believe it's more than just saying “thank you” (yes this is definitely part of it ")! Volunteer appreciation is a series of planned activities that support your overall volunteer management and strategies. Recognizing and sharing the impact of your volunteers, giving them gifts, and investing in their futures keeps the incentives flowing to thrive in your business for profit or nonprofit.

At the end of the day Volunteering increases "A call to Action".

Volunteering is global giving good and positively impacts everyone involved. The people we serve in communities rural, remote and in cities look forward in participating  to learn and be encouraged to seek additional opportunities for their families.

Sharing your talents, time and concern with others is empowering. It helps cultivate not only a mindset of purpose, but also service and kindness, all of which are qualities people admire in a leader and a role model mentor.

Today it is definitely easy to get caught up in our own lives and lose sight of the value in helping others to advance to a better life. As a American born giving back to my ancestral country in Senegal working and residing in Senegal, USA, collaborating partnerships in  Morocco and Saudi Arabia has never been easy. This same challenge fulfils a satisfaction that is positively addictive and that's a good thing. As we approach the upcoming 20 years consider volunteering in your community. Start small. Plan to give one hour a month, one day a week or whatever you can to something that can make a positive difference in someone else’s life. Not only will you will find it personally rewarding, it might help you take your career to the next level fulfilling your dreams and making a significant impact in the community in which you are giving back to. Volunteering gives back to self!
