Celebrating 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence with Digital Ambassadors

Last week, we gathered online to honor the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and to kick off the start of the 16 Days.

On 25 November, five World Pulse Digital Ambassadors shared their personal stories and work to support and empower women to take action against gender-based violence. Long-time member, Digital Ambassador, and activist Busayo Obisakin expertly guided the conversation, helping to draw out wisdom and solutions during the webinar.

Thank you to all who joined us for an enriching and action-oriented celebration. If you missed the webinar event, you can watch each presentation below:

  • Efe on designing the three S’s to aid prevention of violence against women: self esteem building, studying the patterns of a potential partner, support through providing value in a relationship.

  • Marie on founding and running her organization, Hope for the Abused and Battered. She shares how her personal experience with gender-based violence aids the organization’s effort to support and empower women on their journey to self re-discovery.

  • Regina on founding the Association for the Empowerment of the Deaf and Vulnerable Persons. The organization supports women living with disabilities and victims of gender-based violence through economic empowerment, prevention, and training.

  • Karin on her personal domestic violence experience and her work as a legal strategist and advisor for critical international domestic violence and custody cases.

  • Kirthi on her gender-based violence help map app, Saahas. She shares the launch of the “Healing Corner” on Saahas, as well as the “Dear Survivor” series, which brings together letters of solidarity, love, respect, support, and strength.

Thank you again to the World Pulse Digital Ambassadors who spoke out and all who joined this powerful event!
